Emergence
This is the largest twined waxed linen basket I have made up to this point. It took somewhere around 200 hours to weave.
It is titled Emergence because this is one of the rare baskets where I started weaving without a concept in mind. The basket emerged as I wove without any pre-conceived notions as to what it would become.
This basket travelled the country from 2023-2026 in a joint National Basketry Organization and Studio Art Quilt Association exhibition titled “Art Evolved: Intertwined”. It visited museums such as Yellowstone Art Museum, Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Museum, and the Fuller Craft Museum.
