“Bosque Sunflower” was displayed at the National Basketry Organization’s museum exhibit “More Basketry” at the Kentucky Museum, July 16 – 20, 2019.

This abstract sunflower form was inspired by my friend Cathy and her business. A bosque is an area of many trees along a river. The Rio Grande river in Albuquerque, New Mexico has one of the largest bosques of any city in the world.

Wild sunflowers grow in the bosque and were my inspiration for this basket. It is fully lined with an interior second wall.
