Reverse Twining, 4 Rod Wale
Waxed Linen, 7 ply spokes, 4 ply weavers
With this chalice shaped basket, I was trying to push the limits of shape as I wove.
I did a Hopi style base on this basket and originally intended the basket to be larger like a bowl. But after I started, I decided to see how tightly and how small I could weave it as I came up from the base.
This basket also has an interior wall, which finished it very nicely.
It was shown in Albuquerque Museum’s “ArtsThrive 2023” exhibit and sale.
