Inferno | A 2019 Reverse Twine, 4 Rod Wale, round to triangular shape, fully lined. Waxed Linen, 7 ply spokes, 4 ply weavers “Inferno | A” was juried into the National Basketry Organization’s museum exhibit “Basketry Now: 10th Anniversary Exhibition” at the Kentucky Museum, July 16 – December 1, 2019. I was thinking about the surface of the sun and what that might look like in a basket as I wove this piece. Living in the high desert of New Mexico, I was also inspired by the importance but also harshness of the sun in this environment.
