“Seussesque | Truffula” was juried into the “Small Expressions” show of the Handweavers Guild of America. It was shown in an 18 month traveling exhibit and appeared in the magazine “Shuttle, Spindle, and Dyepot”.
This piece is my interpretation of the Truffula trees in the Dr. Seuss book “The Lorax”. It’s meant to be a reminder of how fragile our environment is and the need to strike a balance between economic progress and conservation of our natural resources.
This piece was also shown in “Weave, Coil, Twine, Plait, Knot: Traditional and Contemporary Basketry” at the Edwardsville Art Center.
